In Hunting Hawaii, Kyle and Jeff explore Waipi’o, hunt giant Rams on a giant volcano, and cook up Hawaiian fish.
Their journey begins at Waipi’o Valley, also known as The Valley of Kings, the political and spiritual capital for ancient Hawaiian royalty. With their buddies Jeff and Rudy, they learn about this secluded paradise that only locals can access. They wait until dark and search for freshwater prawn with headlamps and gigs, a small trident-like tool used for spearing.
Then they hit the side of Mauna Loa with local guides Pila and Garrick to hunt for Mouflon Sheep, an animal without natural predators that is heavily impacting local flora. Their trek up the side of an active volcano goes sideways when a heavy fog rolls in.
They end their trip with a bounteous dinner full of local dishes with all their new friends, a true “Aloha Spirit” experience!
