In this episode, Kyle Green shows you how to turn less favorable cuts of bluefin tuna into a mouthwatering poke bowl that’s just as delicious as the premium cuts. If you love tuna sushi, you won’t want to miss this easy and flavorful Hawaiian poke recipe!
Ingredients:
- 1 lb of blue fin tuna filet, 1 inch cubes
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp Rice Vinegar
- 1/2 Tbsp ginger, grated
- Honey, to taste
- Sriracha, to taste
- Avocado, halved, pitted, and cut into 1 inch cubes
- Chives, chopped for garnish
- Green onion, chopped for garnish
Directions:
- Combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger, honey, and sriracha in a medium bowl.
- Set half of the sauce aside for later and add the tuna to the remaining sauce. Let sit for 10-15 minutes.
- While the fish is marinating, prepare your avocado and chives.
- In a round and flat bottomed dish, add the tuna and flatten down as much as possible. This will help the poke stay together when removed from the dish.
- Add the avocado and again flatten it down.
- Once fully packed, flip the dish over onto a plate and you should get a nice round poke dish.
- Top with the reserved sauce, chives, green onion, and serve!

This dish is packed with umami flavor, soy sauce, sesame oil, and other bold ingredients that enhance the natural richness of the fish. While many people believe that only the prime cuts of bluefin tuna are worth eating, we are here to prove that every part of the fish is amazing when prepared the right way!
